Smash Hits decided to investigate how the "electro bleep craze" started.
They asked three bands in the top twenty,
responsible for
the sound, how it started - one of the bands was us.
We
were the only ones that bothered to give a "serious" answer.
Oh, and apparently I have the ability to recite things backwards.
Must remember to try that sometime.

The club we were referring to was The Hacienda.
The DJ we talk of is Graeme Park.
With his brilliant mixing of tracks like "The Dance"
and
his own mix of Cut The Q's "Who needs a Love like
that?" he used
to mix the "bleeps" from these and
other records to amazing effect. This influenced
the main bleep melody of Hardcore Uproar.
Unique 3's "The Theme" and Sweet Exorcist's "Test One" were
also huge influences on the "bleep" element that entered club culture in
the North of England.
